As part of the celebrations leading to our Beloved Bhagwan Shri Sathya Sai Baba's 95th birthday in 2020, the SSIO has, at global level, taken the initiative to adopt 95 communities around the world. In this context, Mauritius has been chosen to be part of this programme and has been requested to adopt 2 communities in the island. The SSIO Mauritius has thus decided to adopt one village in the West, La Ferme, Bambous (69 families) and another, in the North at Pamplemousses (8 families).
Following the kick-start at la Ferme, Bambous village on Sunday 24th June 2018, a second activity was held at the same location on Sunday the16th September 2018. Around 75 devotees from different parts of the island responded to the call of the National Council to clean the village. The event started at around 8.45 a.m with a meeting and briefing with all volunteers. The group present was split into different small sub teams who eventually moved to different sites of the village where cleaning was needed. Inhabitants of La Ferme, Bambous village, including children and women joined the volunteers of the Organisation to give a helping hand. The event ended at around noon with 2 trucks full of trash, litter and overgrown grass and branches leaving the premises heading to landfill station.
