REGION 4- UPPER PLAINE WILHEMS- YOUTH SPORTS N VALUES MEET 2011

‘LIFE IS A GAME- PLAY IT AND FINISH THE GAME!’ – BABA

The Youth Annual Sports and Values Meet organized by Region 4 Upper Plaine Wilhems took place at the Glen Park Stadium, Vacoas on Sunday 27 March 2011.

Regardless of the intermittent seasonal downpour, the participants of all the regional centers and devotional groups were present on the ground at 8 o’clock sharp, gathered in an indescribable spirit of sportsmanship, brotherhood, peace and unity.

The event was launched by Brother Purmessur, Regional Chairman, followed by ardent prayers to Bhagawan, singing of the National Anthem and Sports Anthem by the youth. Registration of the participants which had started earlier was soon over and the players impatiently started with the game.

While the impetus of the physical activity swelled up with the enthusiasm and joy of the participants, the values of unconditional love, fair-play and tolerance inculcated by Bhagawan Baba and displayed by the contestants could be felt by all the people assembled in the stadium. Balvikas children and Sai Youth, girls and boys, men and women participating in the event had irrefutably learnt from Baba that life similar to a sport is a game, which they must accept with its ups and downs.

Participation in a sport builds up the character and fortifies one’s acceptance of the duality of life- where there is happiness, there is sorrow; where there is success, there is failure. One must treat victory and defeat in a game with equanimity as well as in life.

End of the day, it was an enjoyable, memorable and blissful Sai experience. Awaiting the National Sports Day, scheduled for the month of July, the organisers, committee members and participants rubbed their hands together with a grin of blissful satisfaction.
