Sai Ram Greetings

Sai Devotees should start the day by greeting family members, relatives,  neighbours and friends with Sai Ram . This should become a habit. Of course the Sai Ram should be accompanied with a smile. If all devotees do that, one day Mauritius will vibrate with this  sound full of positive vibration as to day Sai devotees can be found everywhere throughout the island. Go to any Civil service department or to any para-statal body or to any primary, secondary or tertiary institution and you are sure to come across a Sai devotee.

This is one of the miracles of Swami and this is how He is going to transform Mauritius, one day, into a Prashanti Nilayam (The Abode of Higher Peace, the nam of  Ashram of Sathya Sai Baba).  Our duty is to help Him in that task. One effortless way to bring our contribution is to greet those we come across – those who won’t mind - with a Sai Ram.

When you say Sai Ram, the ears of the person to whom the greeting is addressed are purified and if he/she answers with Sai Ram, his/her lip is purified. At the same time the environment is purified by the sound.

One Bal Vikas Guru (Sai Spiritual Education Teacher) from Riviere des Creoles told us that one Christian boy greets her regularly with “Sai Ram”. A couple of days back, I was amazed when a young – non Hindu, non-Christian – man at one pumping station greeted me with “Sai Ram.”
