RENOVATION OF WARD B9 OF VICTORIA HOSPITAL
T
The members of Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Curepipe (Wooton), proceeded with the renovation of WARD B9 of the Victoria Hospital in the last two weeks of September 2011. This ward is an important forty-bed female ward of the Victoria Hospital –a government run hospital and among the three major public hospitals of the island. Health care is provided free in the public hospitals and Victoria hospital remains a most preferred establishment for patients given that it offers a full range of medical, surgical and specialist services in the country.

The Sathya Sai volunteers started painting the main block at 7.30 am on Sunday 18th September. Cleaning and painting was carried out with utmost care and special precautions under the guidance of the ward nurses. Over forty Sathya Sai Volunteers were present on Sunday 18th. The kitchen, the bathrooms, the linen room, the nurses’ room and the ward pharmacy were also neatly cleaned and painted.
Twelve wall fans were donated by the centre and fixed in the main block. The main visitors’ hall and the window frames were painted during the week days. The renovation was completed with the fixing of curtains, beautiful pictures of nature and the Sarva Dharma (emblem with the symbols of world major religions) logo in the ward on Sunday 25th September 2011. The management of the hospital deeply appreciated the laudable efforts of the Sathya Sai volunteers who brought a new life to the ward.
